Impudent mortal review on industrial terrain

Front view of the tank towers

I pledged impudent mortal's industrial kickstarter. I had backed one before and another since, As usual, I was not disappointed. The quality is good, and service it relatively fast. He also gives frequent updates. Another cool feature is he provides great instructions. I have backed other mdf kickstarters and always had felt stuff could have been better whether quality of the products or service or both. Walt seems to deliver on both.

rear view

Just to give a brief rundown of the pros and cons.

Pros: MDF is cut and etched well, instructions were easy to follow, shipped fast, price was decent. He provided minutre stands for your figures to go up and down the ladders.  Materials for the most part were great. Painted up nicely.

Cons: Nothing is perfect, the long ladders are a tad bit short and seem flimsy. I had to tweak and work at getting those ladders to stay.

Other: Other than the ladders this is a 9 out of 10 on my review. I would recommend it!!!

Batrep Spinespur

Finally got to do a full real game of spinespur(sortof). We did not use fear tokens. I know, but I am still new to the game, and was teaching someone, I just wanted the flow of the game to be learned. We would do the extra stuff after we got it down.  So tonight's game featured Men of G.O.D. vs. Orphans.
Forces:
Amy Brighteyes
Billy Burns
Grannys helpers x 2
Moltov Thug
Chainsaw thug
Ball Bat Thug
Bladed Thug

Michael
Aniel
Nightengale
Fist of G.O.D.
Warrior of G.O.D.

That was 110 points if I am not mistaken.

Granny is sure proud of this lineup. You can see I used some hassle free miniatures for thugs, they fit comfy chair games models nicely.
Amy Brighteyes runs out by herself, newb mistake because after i moved I realized that other models closer  have to be chosen for attacks over her. So Lugz snapped into action and attacked. He came up short Whew...

Creeping on up, and barely dodging their shots.

Add caption

Looks like michael killed 4 dudes. Actually he killed 2 and I killed 2.

This is it we are both down to the final strikes. Aniel lands both of his attacks he wins, if not Amy saves the day. Aniel has 3 bleed tokens and Ms. Brighteyes has been mind controlling him to stab him self silly.
Lugz can risk it and go for the kill, or play like he has a pair (stolen from warmachine) Aniel misses his first strike and that spells doom (3 bleed tokens and only 2 hit points left, and still lands his 2nd swing but that is not enough. Amy hits on her mind control roll and forces Aniel to finish himself off.
Winner winner chicken dinner.

Games updates and miniatures painted.

Played some games at Excelsior. Daniel, Brian and I. We are trying to build up the community a little. Everyone won a game. In this battle with Lugz, he whipped me pretty good, but i got the caster kill at the last minute.

The mighty Cryx face off against the evil Cygnar.

Those evil Cygnar
Cygnar vs. the Shoulder Pad elves.
Deathjack is complete

Crossover miniatures "Not cat woman", she will be a Pulp City proxy for Kitty Cheshire.

Mourn is complete, the glow effect I think turned out well.

Capt. Hadron proxies, A.K.A. Iron man. In Pulp City I will be using these as a replacement :)

Heroclix Iron man for the regular size. Fission from 4 color figs is the mini one

A target clearance action Figure is the large hadron. i think he may be a half inch short... meh I am cool with it :)

4 color figs here will make up this villain crew. Not decided yet who they will be in pulp city, but I imagine they will be in pulp city and Spinespur.

Kickstarter report card.

Well I have been doing kickstarters for over a year and Its time to report and give grades on them. Since my first Kickstarter was spinespur, I should do that one first. I recieved my fat loot back in December 2013. I am overall sastified with it, there were a few snafus, but overall I am pleased.

My pic from when I received it. Like I said I was overall very pleased with the kickstarter and think Robert Mervine is a straight up dude and will buy from him in the future.  I will point out the little issues I had with and then heap praise on comfy chair.

One of the issues i had with the newer models is the hands on the radiants. They did not stick well and there was not enough to pin the hands. But the rest of the model was solid. One of the nighengales should have been a multipart model, it was difficult to paint. The pig stickers I had trouble getting the arms in place(did not match up that great) and I seemed to be the only one that had trouble with the bellsaw thug. Others were able to put it together without issue. I had some difficulty.  Also the hard cover book was nice, but the pages are thinner than the softcover. So i will only be gaming with the softcover of the book. The final issue was the gladiator arm was not fully formed but Robert promised if you place another order with him you will get a replacement for free.

You may ask why would I order to get the replacement, should he not just send me the replacement? Well yes I would normally agree, but Robert  had money left over from the kickstarter. He could have pocketed the bucks and enjoyed the little bit of money he made, but he had 2 more models made and gave them away for free to certain pledges. They were really done well that was very generous of him. Also the other models were awesome. We got some freebies and even though the delivery was late (he delayed because he found some issues with quality on the book and a model and that is understandable), I did not fear Robert would not deliver. I was also able to get every model I wanted (I have all of the kickstarter models except one) and the rest of the models were of great quality.

In conclusion I would back another kickstarter that comfy chair games does without hesitation. I hope he expands the spinespur line even further.

Quality: A-
Value: A+
Delivery Time : B

Overall : A

Future suggestions: Give weekly updates even if it is to say nothing is happening.

Not much content quantity wise...

But alot was done. I had been working on a terrain table. That felt table is gone.. and converted into this table. below is what has been built. Lugz and Daniel helped me with the carpentry aspect of it and we got it sanded and glued.
Fresh after it was sanded.  Layers of sand and glue, dried and sprayed with wood glue to seal it.

Primed and painted. Will add more coats  and details later.

The Zed or Alive Kickstarter is over and I got the PDF of it. I should get the book and loot cards in the coming weeks. Looks like a cool game. It is based on the Savage worlds Showdown rules.
Finished the broken reaper I won from ebay. It looks alot different and better if you ask me. :) I went with a classic cryx Helljack look. I also like my arc colors. It does not distract you like some of the green ones I have seen and yet it is easy to follow.

April's completed projects

First up Military /SWAT most are from heroclix and rebased. First and next to last are not clix. But a start for police and army forces :)

These dudes I bought onlijne already painted for 5 bucks. They are warmachine models, but will make nice zombies for zombie games :)

Deadzone merc I painted this month.

Reapers bones orc i will use for a fantasy game one day.

Hasslefree minis and All Things Zombie zombie. I would love to find more firemen sculpts, but at least I have one. I would love to have more police/swat ones also.

Iron man clix I rebased. He will be a part of Pulp City as Hadrons replacement. I may eventually get Hadron, but in the mean time he will be a nice replacement.

Handyman from spinespur is complete :)

You may have noticed the new scenery, I am working on completing my modern city and that is part of the strip mall. Two stores and a mini cooper I picked up at a dollar store.
